Rotherham 1's 0 - 1 Lockwood Park Dragons 1's
Lockwood Park Ladies 1st Team were Looking to Continue their revival with 3 points against local rivals Rotherham. The game started with Rotherham gaining the upper hand as the Dragons struggled to get to
grips with a bumpy surface, but Lockwood soaked up the pressure and hit Rotherham on the break with some exceptional forward play from Dexter and Turner resulting in Dexter forcing a fine save from the Rotherham Keeper but Turner was on hand to follow up and clinically dispatch the ball in the Rotherham net.
Lockwood took heart from this and with some superb defensive work and excellent keeping from the Lockwood keeper they kept Rotherham out for the rest of the half. The 2nd half saw a more determined Lockwood team, with some excellent play in the middle from Crossland and Fillingham the dragons took a firm hold of the game. Lockwood Strove to find a second to put the game beyond Rotherham and came close with some excellent Wing play from Sowerby creating a number of chances that the Dragons were
just unable to connect with.
Rotherham were reduced to long balls that the dragons defense expertly dealt with and when the final whistle came Lockwood had earned 3 points and a well deserved 1-0 victory.
