Constitution
1 &= nbsp; Name
The Club is called Lockwood Park Dragons Hockey Club, and shall be affiliated to Yorkshire Hockey Association (YHA), North Hockey Association (NHA) and England Hockey Limited (EHL)

nbsp; The objects of =
the
club are to:
2.1 Promo=
te,
develop and encourage women’s hockey for adults, young people and
children
2.2 Facilitate =
the
maintenance and improvement of standards of playing, umpiring and coaching;=
and
2.3 Follow and
implement the policies laid down by Yorkshire Hockey Association (YHA), Nor=
th
Hockey Association (NHA) and England Hockey Limited (EHL)
2.4 Foste=
r and
maintain links between teams, all members of LPDHC and Huddersfield Rugby U=
nion
Club (HRUFC)
2.5 =
Raise and
allocate funds by methods approved by the LPDHC
Committee
3.1&=
nbsp;
The
club will be managed by a committee (“the Committee”)
3.2= = The Committee must be elected at the annual general meeting in each year, and subject to termination of office by resignation, removal or otherwise, the members remain in office until their successors are elected at the annual or a special general meeting following their election
3.3&=
nbsp;
The
Committee may fill any casual vacancy that occurs
3.4&=
nbsp;
The
Committee has the power to co-opt any member as it sees fit but this person
will not have a vote.
3.5&=
nbsp;
Retiring
members of the committee may be re-elected.
3.6&=
nbsp;
The
Committee shall comprise of the Chairperson, the secretary, the Treasurer, =
the
Fixtures Secretary, the captains of each team and the vice captains of each
team. The Coordinator of coaching, and social secretary will serve on the
committee as co-opted members.
3.7&=
nbsp;
If
any member of the committee is unable to attend a meeting they may nominate=
a
person to replace them who will have a vote.
3.8&=
nbsp;
A
quorum shall be half the total members of the Committee
3.9&=
nbsp;
The
Committee shall:
3.9.1
Prescribe
the policies of the club
3.9.2
Formulate
and oversee the implementation of long term plans, budgets and the allocati=
on
of sponsorship and funds raised.
3.9.3 Ratify the appointment of
designated representatives and sub-committees
3.9.4
Co-ordinate
the work of the above representatives and sub-committees
3.9.5
Appoint
representatives to the YHA as required
3.9.6
The
chairperson or representative nominated by the committee will represent the
club and its interests on the general committee of HRUFC
3.9.7
Keep
proper minutes and records of meetings
3.9.8
Keep
proper financial records
3.9.9
Make
such appointments from time to time as it may think fit
3.9.10
Affiliate
to or disaffiliate from any body or organisation
3.9.11
Have
the power to set and vary match fees
3.9.12
Implement
the clubs disciplinary procedure and code of conduct
3.9.13
Will
meet at least every two months or more frequently if the need arises
3.9.14
Will
circulate all minutes of all meetings to all fully paid up members
3.9.15
Will
convene a special general meeting in accordance with the rule of this
Constitution and at its discretion shall call such other club meetings at the request of any=
fully
paid up member at it sees fit
4.1 Membe=
rship
subscriptions shall be determined at the annual general
meeting<=
/span> for the follow=
ing
year
4.2&=
nbsp;
There
will be membership subscriptions for:

Full
playing adult members
-&nb=
sp;
Full
playing members (students under 21)
-&nb=
sp;
Non-playing
/ training members
4.3&=
nbsp;
Membership
subscriptions shall be paid by the last day of October or such other date as
shall be determined by the committee
4.4&=
nbsp;
Any
person who has not paid by this date will not be eligible to participate ei=
ther
in match games or training
4.5&=
nbsp;
The
Committee has the right to decline membership to any person.
4.6&=
nbsp;
Match
fees shall be paid by any member who participates in any match
5.1 &nb= sp; The Committee may admit people as temporary members on any terms it thinks fit<= /p>
5.2&=
nbsp;
Visitors
may not vote at any meetings of members
= A member wishing to withdraw from the club must give notice in writing to the secret= ary
7.1 &nbs= p; The committee may expel any member who offends against the rules of the club or whose conduct, in the opinion of the committee renders her unfit for member= ship of the club
7.2 The m=
ember
concerned must be given 4 days’ written notice to attend a meeting of=
the
committee where the individual concerned would be informed of the complaints
made against her.
7.3 No me=
mber
may be expelled unless she has first had the opportunity to appear before t=
he Committee
and answer the complaints made against her and at least (two thirds) of the
committee then present vote in favour of her expulsion.
8.1 &nbs= p; The Committee may alter the rules, but no alteration takes effect until it has = been confirmed at the next general meeting or a special meeting convened for the purpose.

9.1&=
nbsp;
Must:
9.1.1
Receive
and if approved, adopt a statement of the club’s accounts to the end =
of
the preceding year
9.1.2
Consider
and, if approved, sanction any duly made alterations to the rules
9.1.3
Appoint
the officers and other co-op members of the Committee.
9.1.4
Deal
with any special matter which the Committee desires to bring before the mem=
bers
and receive suggestions from the members for consideration by the committee=
9.2&=
nbsp;
Notice
must be sent to the members or posted in some conspicuous part of the club
premises not less than (10) days before the meeting and must specify the
matters to be dealt with.
10.= 1 Subject to 3.9.15 above a Special General Meeting may be convened 21 days from rec= eipt of a requisition in writing, signed by not less than 2 members specifying t= he object of the meeting.
10.2=
A
special general meeting may be convened:
10.2.1 To consider and, if approved, sanction any duly made alterations to the rules<= o:p>
10.2.2
To
deal with any special matter which the committee wishes to place before the
members
10.2.3
To
remove any member or members of the committee from office and to fill any
vacancy or vacancies caused by the removal; or
10.2.4
To
deal with any special matter which members requiring the meeting wish to pl=
ace
before the club
10.3=
Notice
must be sent to the members or posted in some conspicuous part of the club
premises not less than 10 days before the meeting and must specify the matt=
ers
to be dealt with.
At the committee meetings and at general meeti= ngs including special general meetings the chairperson shall have a casting or additional vote in the event of an equality of votes
The following numbers are required to form a q= uorum:
12.= 1 At Committee meetings, half the total members of the committee; and
12.= 2 40% of members at general meetings including special general meetings.

Finance
13.= 1 The income of the club shall be derived from membership subscriptions and, subj= ect to the approval of the committee, from any other source
13.= 2 Income will be allocated equitably and as agreed by the Committee
13.= 3 Annual accounts shall be made up to 31st March in each year and be subj= ect to independent examination
13.= 4 The accounts shall be presented at the AGM

Dissolution
14.= 1 A resolution to dissolve the club shall be put to a general meeting and shall= be passed only by the affirmative vote of not less than 75% of those present a= nd entitled to vote
14.= 2 The proceeds of the conversion shall be used by the committee firstly to discha= rge all debts and liabilities of the Club. Any balance shall be passed onto an independent organisation of similar nature to the club and for the benefit = of sport within the area, to be specified by the Committee.
