Liz Maddaford
Liz plays for the second team and is a 29 year old Central Midfielder and has been playing Hockey for fourteen years. The previous clubs that Liz has played for include, Burton Hockey Club, Derby Ladies Hockey Club and Huddersfield University Hockey team.
In three words Liz’s team mates would describe her as Loud, Passionate and Intense.
Advice that Liz would give to anyone wanting to join Lockwood Park Dragons would be, “it doesn’t matter what ability you are, we can cater for all! We are a good bunch of ladies of different ages and abilities and all get on well. There is a good club atmosphere throughout all three teams”.
The benefits that Liz feels you get from Hockey are, “You keep fit and get to socialise”.
If Liz did not play Hockey she is not sure what she would do, she cannot imagine not playing hockey. However she did admit she would have to do something else that was team-sport orientated.
Hockey makes Liz feel “ On the whole it makes me feel good, obviously there are times when you feel disappointed that a game hasn’t gone your way, but you pick your head up and move on to the next”.
