Lockwood Park Dragons 2 vs 3 LA Carnegie
Finally nice weather, blue skies and sunshine! Like the weather the game started brightly for Lockwood Park Dragons, however it was L.A Carnegie that came closest to scoring the first goal of the game, however good defensive play kept them at bay. With some superb attacking efforts from Sarah Blackburn it was Michelle Dexter who found the back of the goal to make it one nil to Lockwood.
Carnegie came out full attack again, one of their players was given the space to come all the way up the pitch and have a shot on goal, however great goal keeping from Eleanor Townend kept Lockwood ahead.
Lockwood battled to make the ball theirs again and a brilliant hit from midfield by Kelly Fillingham went perfectly to Michelle Dexter who again found the goal. Two nil to Lockwood.
Carnegie made a sub and it made all the difference and put Carnegie right back into the game making the score two all with only a few minutes of the first half left to play. Before the break both teams battled to take the lead, Lockwood deserved to take it but unfortunately it was Carnegie who found the third.
The start of the second half and Carnegie came out as they had finished, all out attack. With Carnegie attacking hard it took Amy Smith to clear a ball off of the line so that Lockwood still had the chance of getting back into the game.
Lockwood went for their third Amanda Sowerby put a great ball into the D but sadly no one got their stick onto the end of it. Amy Smith again was hard in defence to keep Carnegie from scoring their fourth.
Lockwood tried continuously to get their equaliser with helen Hough attacking well down the right flank. However Lockwood could not quite manage this and the game finished with Carnegie as the winners.
